These are my picks for the stand out brands of the year. These are all young companies that are taking the industry by storm.

*Update Electric Zombie has won the poll for the best young brand of ‘08. We saw a lot of good stuff this following year but I have to agree that EZ was one of the stand outs for sure. I hope the next year is just as good or better for all of you!

Stussy is set to launch a special Halloween Monster pack this Friday at all flagship stores, here is a sneek peak 4 days before the launch! The classic movie style illustrated monsters are printed on long sleeves just in time for the seasons. This is going to be a pretty rare set so nab them if you can!

Holiday Trends in a Nut Shell

I know a lot of illustrators will not like to see this but for the colder seasons heavily graphic based designs aren’t as popular. Brands are leaning more towards the simple is more approach. The big colors for the season are White, Grays, and Black with some Purple thrown in the mix. Since the holidays are almost here most all designs should be done for new lines and we will soon see brighter stuff for next year. I hate to say it but things are a little boring this year so make up for it with some rad jackets!
